Ricardo Lamas Irritates Conor McGregor With Parody Video
Conor McGregor is the best trash talker in the UFC but with his recent comments about Ricardo Lamas‘ parody video, “The Delirious Conrad McGillicutty” (see video below), it seems McGregor can dish it out but can’t take it.
Ricardo Lamas is the first UFC fighter to get under Conor McGregor‘s skin…and they’re not even scheduled to fight each other.
Lamas remarked that he’s just trying to beat McGregor at his own game. So far he’s succeeding.
A comment from “Riverdawg” on MMA Fighting reveals what many Conor McGregor fans fail to understand about Ricardo’s parody video:
“Conor’s game isn’t making stupid parody videos. Some of these guys in the Featherweight Division just don’t get it. Conor is in their heads and Ricardo is proof of that. Making that video doesn’t hurt Conor it just makes Ricardo look desperate for attention…”
While it’s true Conor McGregor’s style and method of “playing the game” does not entail parody videos it’s important to recognize Ricardo Lamas and McGregor ARE playing the same game. Conor uses a sharp wit and intelligence to fire off biting, humorous soundbites and insults. He’s the best in the UFC at this type of trash talking.
Although Ricardo Lamas also has intelligence and wit he feels confident making fun of McGregor through parody videos. He’s very good at it so why not use a method that serves him best? Lamas is playing the same game as McGregor but using his own tactics and strategies…not Conor’s.
During the UFC Fight Night 59 post fight press conference McGregor revealed he was genuinely hurt and upset by Lamas’s video lampoon.

Conor looked pained as he discussed the satirical video. He spent some time talking about it and tried to insult Lamas but the familiar humorous wit was lacking. Conor’s words fell flat. Round 1 of the trash talking battle goes to Ricardo Lamas.
