Miesha Tate Shines On TUF As Trainwreck Rousey Implodes

There is a nexus between Ronda Rousey and Jock Palfreeman, two people who have been the subjects of recent articles on Six Toed Pete.

I wrote about Jock Palfreeman’s battle for justice in the Bulgarian court system and earlier how to successfully battle Ronda Rousey in the UFC octagon.

It turns out Ronda Rousey is in Sofia, Bulgaria filming her role in “The Expendables 3″ only a short distance from where Jock Palfreeman is incarcerated.

Ronda is working with Sylvester Stallone, Harrison Ford, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Randy Couture and other other action stars. Welterweight boxing champion Victor Ortiz will also be in the movie.

Speaking of Ronda Rousey…her true character is being shown on the MMA reality series The Ultimate Fighter and it is not pretty. While rival coach Miesha Tate displays maturity, integrity, intelligence and genuine care and compassion for the contestants, Ronda reveals herself to be immature, incompetent and on the verge of an emotional breakdown.

She’s not helped by a member of her coaching staff, Edmond Tarverdyan who went ballistic on Miesha and her boyfriend, successful UFC fighter Bryan Caraway over some misunderstanding on Twitter more than a year prior. Miesha and Bryan showed class while responding to Tarverdyan even as he continued spitting and slurring invective.

The TUF teams were at the Red Rock Casino Resort to watch UFC on Fuel TV: Nogueira vs. Werdum and there was an open bar. So although Edmond came off as a complete fool, perhaps his embarrassing behavior can be attributed to excessive alcohol consumption.

However, after researching Rousey’s assistant coach’s background, it appears Edmond Tarverdyan’s qualifications as a “striking coach” amount to him going to Kinkos and ordering a box of business cards that read, “striking coach”.

I got a chuckle after seeing this gem about Edmond on Miesha Tate’s Twitter account:

Edmund Tarverdyan
Edmund Tarverdyan “Striking Coach”

Freddie Roach is a real striking coach who was spot on with his prediction about the Floyd Mayweather vs Canelo Alvarez fight:

That’s exactly how it went. Mayweather dominated Canelo with superb boxing skills.

C. J. Ross cemented her place in boxing history as one of the worst judges ever by scoring Mayweather’s lopsided victory as a draw, 114 – 114! She was one of the two judges who awarded Timothy Bradley Jr. a split decision victory, and a welterweight world title, against Manny Pacquiao in June 2012. A fight that Pacquiao won convincingly. The other judge who robbed Pacquiao was Duane Ford, also one of the worst boxing judges.

Thankfully C.J. Ross resigned from her position as a boxing judge shortly after the Mayweather vs. Canelo fight. It was 20 years too late but let’s hope Duane Ford follows her out the door. In my opinion both are disgracefully incompetent boxing judges.

This article reeks of immaturity due to the authors dislike toward Ronda and like for Miesha. Just pathetic.

@Random Thank you for your pathos but it is misguided. I don’t need your pity for writing the truth.

While through her own actions and conduct it has become very easy to dislike Ronda Rousey, ultimately that is something MMA and UFC fans will decide.

In an earlier article about Ronda Rousey I was very complimentary about her MMA/Judo skills and accomplishments. I was honest, accurate and fair.

Now that I mention her failures as a TUF coach and as a human being (all completely truthful) you attack me as immature?! Such criticisms apply to Ronda’s behavior; not my reporting about it.

I think this article was spot on. Ronda and her so called “Striking Coach” are ruining the TUF experience. Their drama and unprofessional behavior is turning this series into another Real World. Ronda should take some time off and seek some real professional help, in the mental department. Ronda lost a huge fan base and it hasn’t even got to the 3rd episode yet. Ronda acts like a spoiled little child while Miesha acts her age and like a true champion, unlike Ronda. I can see how anyone could lose respect for Ronda. This article was not Bias. It was the cold hard truth.

I wouldn’t put too much stock into what the OP wrote. Some are just die hard fans that can’t see logic. Rousey was concerned over how she’d look on the show and rightfully so. I dislike her attitude and hubris. She’ll find out how far she has to fall once she loses the belt.

This shouldn’t come as a big surprise for those that have followed the Tate/Rousey rivalry over the last year and a half.

There’s no getting around it, Bryan Caraway said some horrible stuff to and in reference to Ronda Rousey..and he paid a price, professionally and I’m sure personally as well, as he became the most despised man in MMA for a period. However, he did apologize…profusely, and has since laid low. I though he handled himself like a true gentlemen on this past weeks episode.

Miesha Tate has always been very professional and kind in every interview, or interaction I’ve seen her participate in. She’s been up front about her lose to Rousey, but has always given her credit as a champion and pioneer. I think so far, she’s shown that she was maybe the best choice to be a coach on this seasons TUF, as she really is taking a dedicated and honestly caring approach to her fighters. They will walk away having learned and grown from being Team Tate.

I don’t dislike Ronda Rousey, but she is abrasive, there’s no two ways about it. It’s what first got her in the spotlight, and i a cage with Tate. It’s a selling point, and part of the persona she has crafted. She’s taken every possible opportunity to tell anyone that will listen that she hates Miesha, and legitimately seems angered when the sentiment isn’t returned.

Ronda is a pioneer, and a world class athlete. Miesha is also a pioneer, and world class athlete. She may not be the champion (subject to change), but she’s a great embassador for the sport all the same.

Tate has definitely grown/matured since her loss to Rousey. Same could seemingly be said for Caraway as well.

I am not sure that Miesha questioning the legitimacy of Ronda’s striking coach, who is a vastly experienced muay thai fighter but has only had a couple of MMA fights, on Twitter, is wise. Muay thai is a sport based on striking. Furthermore, it does nothing to refute Ronda’s assertion that Miesha and her coach/boyfriend indulge in ‘bitch’ behaviour through Twitter. Just saying.

Miesha is getting valuable exposure coaching on TUF18. When they fight in December, Rousey will again destroy her. It will be interesting to see the effect of that loss on her career going forward.
